LSAT Test Centers Near Me

The LSAT is now delivered primarily online with live remote proctoring, so most test-takers sit it at home rather than at a physical test center. LSAC also offers in-person options in defined circumstances, and availability changes by cycle: about a 3-hour test delivered at Prometric test centers and by remote proctoring, with scores released roughly three weeks later. You choose your format during registration.

Where are the LSAT test centers near me?

For most test-takers there is no local test center to find, because the LSAT is administered primarily online with live remote proctoring that you complete on your own computer at home. LSAC does provide in-person testing in certain situations, and the exact options vary by administration: about a 3-hour test delivered at Prometric test centers and by remote proctoring, with scores released roughly three weeks later.

How does remote LSAT testing work?

You take the remote LSAT on a computer that meets LSAC's technical requirements, in a quiet, private room, while a live proctor monitors you through your webcam. LSAC checks your equipment and workspace before the test begins. Since Aug 2024 the LSAT is two scored Logical Reasoning sections, one Reading Comprehension section, and one unscored variable section, in the same format online.

What if you cannot test at home?

If you lack a suitable private space or the required equipment, LSAC offers alternatives that can include approved in-person or proctored-site options, subject to availability in your area: You indicate your needs during registration, and requesting early improves your chances of a workable arrangement.

How do you choose and confirm your testing setup?

During registration, select your format and confirm your device, internet connection, and testing room against LSAC's published requirements well before test day. Run any system check LSAC provides. If you need accommodations or an alternative location, request them early, since approvals and limited in-person seats take time to arrange.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the LSAT cost?

The LSAT registration fee is currently $253 (which includes LSAT Argumentative Writing), and most applicants also pay for the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) that nearly all law schools require, currently $219. LSAC provides need-based fee waivers that cover registration and several related services for applicants who qualify.

How many times can you take the LSAT?

You can repeat the LSAT, but LSAC caps the number of attempts within one testing year, within the current plus recent testing years, and across your lifetime: no per-testing-year cap, five times within the current five-year reportable period, and seven times over a lifetime. Because cancelled scores count toward these caps, most advisers suggest testing only when you are genuinely ready to hit your target.

When should I take the LSAT?

The best LSAT date leaves time for a possible retake before deadlines, typically a sitting in the summer or early autumn of your application year. Rolling admissions reward early, complete applications, so an earlier score that meets your target medians usually beats a slightly higher score submitted months later.
