When do LSAT Results Come Out

LSAT results come out about three weeks after each test date, on a specific day LSAC publishes in advance for every administration. Your scaled 120 to 180 score posts to your LSAC online account. The confirmed release date for your test shifts year to year; see the linked U.S. News ranking for the current No. 1.

When do LSAT results come out?

LSAT results generally come out about three weeks after the test date, on a day LSAC assigns to each administration and publishes in advance. Your results include your scaled 120 to 180 score and its percentile, posted to your LSAC online account. Since the date varies by test, the confirmed release date shifts year to year; see the linked U.S. News ranking for the current No. 1.

What do your LSAT results include?

Your LSAT results show your scaled score on the 120 to 180 range and the percentile that reflects how you compare with other recent test takers. If you have taken the test more than once, your results also list each score and an average. LSAT Writing appears as a completed sample rather than a numeric score, since it is unscored.

What can change when LSAT results arrive?

The release date depends on which administration you took, and results can be delayed if your LSAT Writing sample is not yet complete, since it must be on file first. A flagged testing irregularity or an unresolved account issue can also hold an individual result. Otherwise, most results within one administration post together on the scheduled date.

What should you do when your LSAT results post?

When your results arrive, compare your score against the median LSAT of your target schools to see where you stand. Move quickly on applications, since many schools admit on a rolling basis. If your results fall short of your goal, review the next test date and weigh a retake against your application timeline before deciding.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take to get LSAT results?

It generally takes about three weeks from test day to get your LSAT results, on the date LSAC publishes for your administration. The exact gap can vary slightly by cycle. Your results post to your LSAC online account, and LSAC emails you when they are available.

What do LSAT results show?

Your LSAT results show your scaled score between 120 and 180 and the percentile that compares you with other recent test takers. If you have tested more than once, results list each score plus an average. LSAT Writing shows as a completed, unscored sample. The results do not include any per-section score breakdown.

Do LSAT results come out on a set date?

Yes. LSAT results come out on a set date that LSAC publishes in advance for each administration, rather than trickling out unpredictably. The date is listed on LSAC dates and deadlines page next to your test date. You know your release date before test day, which helps with planning.

Why are my LSAT results taking longer than expected?

LSAT results most often run late because the required LSAT Writing sample is not yet complete, since LSAC will not release a score without it on file. A flagged irregularity or an account problem can also delay an individual result. Completing LSAT Writing soon after your test is the surest way to avoid a hold.
