NextGen bar prep courses have shipped at seven providers and not at four, with SmartBarPrep a full exam cycle behind. The finding that matters: no provider charges more for NextGen than for its legacy course, and BARBRI has no separate NextGen SKU at all.
Seven have shipped NextGen content and four have not, and the gap between those two groups is wider than the marketing suggests.
Shipped: Themis, Kaplan, Helix, JD Advising, Quimbee, UWorld, BARBRI (embedded).

BARBRI is the asterisk. It has no separate NextGen SKU and no separate NextGen price. NextGen is a content substitution inside the existing Premium and Elite products, whose 2028 page reads '1,000+ NCBE-licensed MBE questions, or NextGen question sets' (https://www.barbri.com/bar-review-course/pricing/2028).

The industry absorbed a wholesale exam redesign as a content refresh at zero price premium rather than repositioning it as a new product.
Read that as information rather than as generosity. A new product commands a new price when the seller believes it has something new to sell; identical pricing suggests the providers are substituting content inside an existing structure.
Neither company advertises these and both are on their own pages.
Themis flags that early-start access is unavailable in NextGen-adopting states (https://www.themisbar.com/international-bar-review). If early access is the feature you were buying, it is not available where NextGen is live.
UWorld notes that NextGen state packages do not include a self-assessment (https://legal.uworld.com/mbe/). That is a component present in the legacy package and absent from the NextGen one.
Neither is disqualifying. Both are worth asking about before you buy, because a like-for-like price does not always mean a like-for-like product.
SmartBarPrep most visibly. Its NextGen page reads Coming Soon for the February 2027 exam with only an email signup, which is a full exam cycle behind, while its homepage markets the NextGen jurisdictions by name (https://smartbarprep.com/nextgen-ube-study-guides/).
Crushendo has no NextGen product at all and prices a UBE Suite at $690 alongside a Bar Exam Prep product at $970 on two of its own pages (https://crushendo.com/pricing).
Studicata sells a subscription rather than a course, at $0, $29 per month or $99 per month through a Skool storefront, and no NextGen coverage was found (https://www.skool.com/studicata/plans).
If you are sitting NextGen in July 2026 or 2027, those three are not options regardless of price.
One framing point that governs this whole page. The first NextGen administration was July 28 and 29, 2026 (https://www.ncbex.org/exams/nextgen), so at the time of writing no NextGen exam had been sat anywhere in the world and no results existed. There is no NextGen pass rate, no score distribution, no repeater data and no retrospective on how it went, and anyone offering you one is inventing it.
So no provider has NextGen materials validated against a real administration. Every NextGen question bank in existence was written against NCBE's published Blueprint and sample questions, not against an exam anyone has sat.
That is not a reason to avoid buying. It is a reason to discount any claim of proven NextGen results, and to prefer providers using NCBE-licensed material over ones writing their own from the Blueprint.
Every figure came from the provider's own pricing or product page on July 27, 2026. No review site, no affiliate roundup, no coupon site and no best-of listicle was used as a price source, because those are where stale and invented figures propagate.

Where a company's own two pages disagree, we print both and say so. Themis advertises $1,776 on its homepage against $1,895 on its bar review page, and Crushendo prices its UBE Suite at $690 in one place and Bar Exam Prep at $970 in another. Both were live on the companies' own sites.
Prices move. Check the inline links against what you find, and treat any figure quoted without a link to the company's own page as unverified.

Everything across the cluster is drawn from the same verified fact set and carries the same verified-as-of date, so the numbers agree with each other by construction rather than by coincidence.
It cannot tell you what your own board will do. Jurisdictions set their own dates, fees, cut scores, deadlines and admission rules, and NCBE compiles those decisions rather than making them.
It cannot substitute for reading your jurisdiction's rule text. Compilation charts are an index into the rules, not the rules, and every material decision should be checked against the authority itself.
The first is adoption. Supreme courts issue orders on their own schedule and NCBE's compilation pages lag them, which is exactly what happened with California in July 2026.
The second is the calendar. Most jurisdictions had not posted 2027 dates or 2027 fees at verification, and several were serving prior-cycle pages without saying so.
The third is cut scores. NCBE states on its own page that jurisdictions are currently evaluating its recommended NextGen range (https://www.ncbex.org/exams/nextgen/minimum-passing-scores), so that list grows month by month.
None of those three settles before autumn. Treat September as the re-check point for anything on this page that carries a date or a number.
Start at NCBE's jurisdiction index (https://www.ncbex.org/jurisdictions) to find the name of your admitting authority, which is often not the state bar association and is sometimes a board sitting under the supreme court.
Then go to that authority's own site and look for a dated page. A page with no cycle label is the warning sign, not the exception; several boards serve prior-cycle information with no year on it anywhere.
Cross-check the deadlines page against the program page, because they disagree more often than they should. We found boards contradicting themselves on dates in the same week.
If the two disagree and you cannot tell which is current, email the board and keep the reply. A dated email from the board is better evidence than any table, including this one.
