Who should go to Georgia?

You are a Georgia resident, you want the Southeast, or you want a federal clerkship without paying for it.

Georgia residents, Southeast-focused students, clerkship hopefuls, and anyone who wants a top-30 credential with almost no debt.

The disclosed numbers behind that: 28.8 percent large-firm placement, 9.4 percent federal clerkships, 95.9 percent employed at ten months, and a placement pattern of GA 126, SC 5, TX 5.

Who should avoid Georgia Law?

You need a national Big Law outcome or a coastal market.

Someone who needs a national Big Law outcome from day one.

The complaint current students actually make, which is the fairest warning available: Placement is regional. Atlanta is a good market but it is not New York, and out-of-state students pay more than double the resident rate.

The thing nobody tells you about Georgia

Georgia charges residents $19,502 in tuition and fees and ranks ninth in the country for federal judicial clerkships. There is no other school in America where those two facts are true simultaneously. National Jurist has named it the number one Best Value Law School in five of the last seven years and that is not marketing.

It is checkable. Every number we have used is in Georgia's own filings, linked above, and we would rather you verify it than trust us.

What is the biggest risk of Georgia?

Out-of-state tuition of $38,944 roughly doubles the cost, and the 28.8% large-firm rate means Big Law is a top-of-class outcome rather than a default one.

Price it rather than dismissing it. The three-year net cost at the median grant is roughly $73,686, our arithmetic before interest, and that is the sum you are putting against the risk.

Since July 1, 2026 federal borrowing is capped at $50,000 a year and $200,000 in aggregate with Grad PLUS eliminated, under the Reimagining and Improving Student Education final rule, which attributes the change to the Working Families Tax Cuts Act (https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/05/01/2026-08556/reimagining-and-improving-student-education-federal-student-loan-program-final-regulations). That cap covers the full cost here, which materially lowers the financial risk relative to peers.

The honest verdict

You accept a regional market in exchange for the best cost-to-outcome ratio of any school in these three volumes.

Run the comparison on net cost after your actual offer rather than on sticker, because the median grant is a midpoint and half of recipients received less. Then weigh the outcome columns against the market you actually intend to practice in.
