Interviews: No. NYU states interviews and meetings with the Committee on Admissions are not granted at any point during the regular application process. Optional Wednesday group office hours are informational only and explicitly not part of the admissions process.
Scholarship effect of applying early: Considered for all NYU scholarships and aid, but the decisions follow the binding commitment. NYU itself warns that applicants for whom aid will be an influential factor should consider carefully whether to apply ED, because they will be unable to compare offers.

NYU is one of the few schools where a genuine public interest commitment is a decisive admissions and scholarship advantage. The Root-Tilden-Kern application is a separate, demanding process worth roughly $250,000 in tuition.
