Columbia Law Early Decision 2027: Deadline, Binding Rules & Aid

Columbia Law’s binding Early Decision deadline for the Fall 2027 entering class is November 15, 2026. Applicants must complete the application by that date and are generally notified by the end of December. The regular J.D. deadline is February 15, 2027.

Is Columbia ED binding?

Yes. If admitted, you must matriculate at Columbia, decline prior acceptances and immediately withdraw other law-school applications.

Does Columbia ED improve admission odds?

Columbia does not publish an ED-specific acceptance rate. The program gives expedited review and eliminates yield uncertainty for the school, but no responsible source can turn that into a verified percentage boost.

What about financial aid?

ED applicants can still apply for aid, but binding admission reduces your ability to compare competing offers. Columbia’s current financial-aid deadline is February 15.
